In The Will to Change: Men, masculinity, and Love, hooks states that “sexist masculinity has assaulted the spirits of men”. Here I am attempting to imagine what an undamaged man’s spirit would look like. It is almost like a metamorphosis; a new, beautiful body emerges from the old. A new perspective of black masculinity is replacing the old one.
